Meet the team behind ObzenFlow
Kevin Webber
Architect / Developer
Kevin has spent 20 years building and operating distributed systems, with experience as an SRE manager, open source program office lead, and O’Reilly author. He designed ObzenFlow’s architecture along with the ORA philosophy and CHAIN maturity model for the next generation of streaming systems, choosing Rust for its expressiveness, performance, and correctness. He is self-funding full-time development to keep the project truly open source.
Emma Kellam
Designer
Emma leads design and front-end development at ObzenFlow, creating everything from the logo and website to a retro-inspired Leptos UI built with hand-crafted pixel art. She designed a complete sprite system with animated flows, pipe connectors, and stage components, making complex streaming topologies intuitive and delightful. This clarity-first approach led the Apache Foundation to adopt her redesigned Avro logo in 2023. Through Dark Mode Club, she translates distributed systems concepts into accessible visual content, bringing both design craft and growing technical aptitude to ObzenFlow.

Maintainer
Maintainers are contributors who’ve shown sustained commitment to the project, its governance, and the community. After launch, we’ll invite maintainers from the community based on sustained contributions and active participation. No formal application process, just show up, contribute, and help shape the project over time. Everyone is welcome to contribute without being an official maintainer.
Future maintainers
We’re a small founding team, but that’s the starting point, not the end state. As ObzenFlow grows, so will the maintainer base. Interested? Start contributing.
We’re committed to building transparent governance as the community matures. Decisions about project direction, releases, and maintainer responsibilities will be made openly, with input from active contributors.
